It is time to look ahead.

Looks like this chap is gone for good.

More of like good riddance.

He was starting to get cocky and infatuated with the whole idea of Madrid, that players of more loyalty were left teething on the bench. It is good that he is gone for a rather interesting fee of 80 million pounds.

I do not play football but I think anyone who has played a team sport of any sorts would tell you that a team game IS a team game and not a lone man match. Our big fellow up there has defeated that purpose during his time at Old Trafford. He made football in the red half of Manchester his game and not for the other 10 colleagues of his.

This taught me a valuable lesson. Sometimes I look back and say yeah, Ronaldo has done a lot for United-in terms of goals, assists, skills, etc. But one thing he has not given or rather failed in was commitment. Once big clubs got interested, he was in football lala-land. During the 07/08 season, he was a phenomenon but the arrogance got into his head. What happened to the poor lad raised in the slums of Madeira?

Pride comes before a fall and as much as I want to place a curse on him, I am going to be the bigger person and say, I wish him all the best in his future undertakings at Madrid. Nistelrooy, Beckham and Heinze did not get any better at Real; what makes Ronaldo think he will? Probably another first fantastic debut season for United's former #7, but nothing will follow after that. He would be too obsessed with the glitz and glamour.

With him gone, hopefully Rooney (the true blue Red) will get to strut his stuff and show us United fans what we want to see him do like he does for England. United fans all around the world are still a bit affected by the Ronaldo move, but it was not like we never anticipated this day.

We have moved on from Nistelrooy to Rooney, Beckham to Ronaldo and Heinze to Evra. Why can't we just sit back and take some time to rebuild? Probably another World Player of the Year would be drafted in the making at the Theatre of Dreams.
